SERVICE INFORMATION

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

CONDITION/CONCERN

A dealer technician may notice that after the OnStar 3G/4G Canada Upgrade per the latest version of Bulletin 15-08-44-001, some vehicles may display "Engine Power Reduced" on the DIC but engine performance is not affected and the Check Engine Light will not be illuminated.

This issue may occur immediately after an OnStar blue button press configuration or soon after and the concern may cause the vehicle to set unrelated false DTC's.

RECOMMENDATION/INSTRUCTIONS

If this concern is experienced, park the vehicle in an outdoor area that has good cellular coverage and call GM OnStar TAC @ 1-800-263-7740 prompt 4 from a cell phone while in the vehicle.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
