ISSUE

Replacement of the Instrument Cluster (IPC) leaves the stored odometer value as 0. When attempting to write the odometer value using the separate application, there is an error 'request out of range'.

CAUSE

Pathfinder is attempting to write the odometer value in the incorrect format. The IPC rejects this request and displays the error 'request out of range'.

ACTION

  1. Open the ECU diagnostics menu.
  2. Open the IPC menu
  3. Open the ECU functions menu
  4. Start the application 'Odometer Calibration'
  5. Contact your local technical support team for coded access
  6. Convert the vehicles mileage into kilometers
  7. Enter the converted value in kilometers
  8. The application will pass, the IPC will display the correct odometer value (in miles)

If these actions do not resolve the concern, raise a Technical Assistance (TA) request.

If the vehicle is in a market where kilometers are the main displayed value, the actions are not applicable, however the concern may still occur. In this situation, raise a Technical Assistance (TA) request.
