ISSUE

NOTE: - Affects Symptom Driven Diagnostics (SDD) Supported Vehicles only.

When performing a Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) read using SDD release 152.05 or later, certain modules may not display any DTCs. Modules will be displayed with a green tick (module fitted - no DTC present), even when DTCs are present in the module.

An example of this would be a Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) on with no DTCs present in the module.

CAUSE

The software update for the JLR Vehicle Communication Interface (VCI) Device released in conjunction with SDD 152.05, is suspected to be the root cause. This is currently under investigation by JLR engineering.

ACTION

After performing the initial DTC data collect, refresh the relevant Control Module and then complete a DTC read, the module will now display DTCs.

The other option would be to use an alternative JLR Vehicle Communication Interface (VCI) Device if available.
