ISSUE

When using JLR VCi with SDD 152.05 or above, the following Symptom Driven Diagnostics (SDD) applications may fail with the error Failed to write Security identifier'  , the application will then abort;

  • Configure new Body control module
  • Configure new Keyless Vehicle Module
  • Immobilization

CAUSE

The latest JLR VCi firmware which was released on SDD 152.05, appears to cause concerns with the Secure ID write, which is executed in the above applications. Further investigations are ongoing to fully understand the root cause.

ACTION

Before running any of the above applications, please ensure that 'SDD Monitoring' is enabled. This will then allow the required application to complete successfully.

To enable SDD monitoring please follow the instructions below,

  1. Navigate to the required application
  2. Select the quick launch menu from the top right corner of the SDD page.
  3. Start SDD monitoring.
  4. Run the application you require.
  5. Open the quick launch menu.
  6. Stop the SDD monitoring.
  7. Save the SDD monitoring files to the desired location.

If this process fails to rectify then the procedure should be retried using an alternative VCI. If concerns are still experienced using an alternative VCI, then please raise a Technical Assistance (TA) and attached the captured SDD monitoring files.
