CONDITION SUMMARY

Situation:  A customer may express a concern that the door handle surface is pitted and/or uneven in appearance.

Cause:  Metal layers of the door handle are delaminating. Suggested Customer Concern Code AK7  .

Action:  Should a customer express this concern, follow the Service Instruction outlined below.

  1. An example of door handle surface pitted and/or uneven in appearance.
    1. Inspect all the door handles.

  2. If required install a new front door handle (see TOPIx Workshop Manual, section 501-14 Handles, Locks, Latches and Entry Systems - Exterior Front Door Handle).
  3. If required install a new rear door handle (see TOPIx Workshop Manual, section 501-14 Handles, Locks, Latches and Entry Systems - Exterior Rear Door Handle).
