TCU UPDATE AND REPLACE APPLICATIONS FAIL DUE TO MISSING SOFTWARE FILES

ISSUE
When attempting to complete the Replace/Update applications for the Telematics Control Unit (TCU) with PATHFINDER the applications may fail to complete. The error message below may be displayed:
- Tester is missing required software VBF's to perform the download
CAUSE
Latest version of PATHFINDER is missing the required software files for the Replace/Update TCU applications to complete successfully.
ACTION
This workaround will load a software file to the Jaguar Land Rover Approved Diagnostic Equipment using the Manual Patch Update process.
This Manual Patch will stay on the JLR Approved Diagnostic Equipment.
To apply the Manual Patch please, complete the instructions carefully.
- Select the 'Manual Patch' Icon on the Application Launcher screen. You will see a pop-up for the Manual Patch downloader.
- Enter 'MP_PF_H0008' in the 'Patch Name' field.
- Select 'Start' and the Manual Patch will download.
- Select 'Yes' when the patch download is finished.
- Start a new PATHFINDER session.
- Select 'ECU diagnostics'
- Navigate to TCU.
- Select Update or Replace.
- Follow all on screen instructions to complete update.
PERMANENT CORRECTIVE ACTION
Once the permanent corrective action has been released, this communication and Manual Patch will be expired. An updated communication will be released detailing which JLR Approved Diagnostic Equipment version includes the permanent corrective action.
