SITUATION

JLR investigations have found customers experiencing a start-up battery drain condition as a result of unapproved accessories or devices that have been installed to the vehicle.

CAUSE

Installed accessories or devices that are not approved by JLR can have unintended side effects on the vehicle.

ACTION

Follow the instruction(s) below.

SERVICE INSTRUCTION

Vehicles experiencing a start-up battery drain condition must be inspected for any unapproved accessories or devices that have been installed to the vehicle.

If it is determined that any unapproved accessories or devices have been installed to the vehicle, which have resulted in the start-up battery drain condition present, then refer the customer to the following section within the owner's handbook, which details the below information:

'What is not covered by the manufacturer's warranty terms  ?'

'Failure of a non-approved part and/or the failure or misuse of a product or accessory not recommended by Jaguar Land Rover. Additionally, any consequential damage caused by the fitment or use of such parts, products, or accessories will not be covered by the Jaguar Land Rover vehicle or parts warranties.'
