ISSUE

Content 

Side Object Detection Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) U0233-00 & U0232-00 stored in Front Control Display Interface Module (FCDIM) where a vehicle does not have the Blind Spot Monitoring option fitted.

CAUSE

Configuration mis-match between FCDIM & Vehicle Configuration File that may cause DTCs U0233-00 'Lost Communication with the right side obstacle detection control module' & U0232-00 'Lost communication with the left side obstacle detection module' to be stored unnecessarily.

ACTION

If the above DTCs are stored in the FCDIM during vehicle diagnosis and the vehicle is not fitted  with Blind Spot Monitoring the codes should be ignored.

If the codes are stored on a vehicle fitted  with Blind Spot Monitoring then continues with diagnosis as guided by Symptom Driven Diagnostics.
