ISSUE

There was an error in tooling release note JLRSST055 which incorrectly stated that GR8 battery tester/chargers could be upgraded to become Li-ion capable.

CAUSE

A misunderstanding of the suitability of the Midtronics GR8 battery tester/charger for upgrade to Li-ion capability.

The GR8 is of older architecture, and cannot be upgraded to support Li-ion battery charging.

ACTION

The Li-ion software can only be applied to the Midtronics GRX-3080, please refer to JLRSST068. JLRSST055v2 was released to remove the reference to GR8 units.
