ISSUE
Symptom Driven Diagnostics (SDD) initiates a 'Scan Disk' every time the SDD machine is started.
CAUSE
During general machine maintenance a user selects to run 'Scan Disk' on restart from within SDD, in doing this a setting is changed that allows the Scan Disk to complete. This setting is not removed after the Scan Disk has completed causing the Scan Disk to initiate on every restart.
ACTION
This workaround will load a software file to SDD using the Manual Patch Update process:
- Disconnect any communication devices from the SDD machine.
- Login to SDD
- Select 'Continue' on the SDD Warning screen.
- Select 'Manual VIN Read'
- Select 'Settings' tab on the top right of the screen.
- Select 'System Utilities' tab on the top middle of the screen
- Select 'Manual Patch Update'.
- A pop-up will be displayed for Manual patch selection dialog box.
- Enter 'MP_JL_R0002' in the Manual patch selection dialog box.
- Select 'OK'
- The Software Manager wizard will then download the fix file from the server.
- Select 'OK' in the Manual patch update information pop up.
- Select 'OK' when the "Please shut down SDD before continuing" message is displayed.
- 'Please wait' message is displayed.
- Select 'OK' when the "Package has been installed" message is displayed.
- Select 'OK' in the Manual patch update information pop up.
- Close the SDD program
- Start a new SDD session
- 21. Restart the SDD machine.
A further SSM will be released advising the SDD software level that a permanent solution will be released on.
