CONDITION SUMMARY
Situation: A concern has been identified on certain 2014-2015 model year Land Rover Range Rover Sport and 2013-2015 model year Range Rover vehicles where the Occupant Classification Sensor (OCS) may not function correctly at all times. A light weight (5th percentile female) adult passenger could be mis-classified and the passenger airbag disabled as a result when the vehicle is being driven on very smooth surface roads for a period of time. The 'Passenger Airbag OFF' lamp is illuminated in this situation.
Action: Retailers are required to HOLD only affected new vehicles that are within your control and refrain from releasing the vehicles for new or used vehicle sale pending completion of the rework action detailed in this Technical Bulletin. Unsold vehicles should have this performed as part of the Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) process but must have it completed prior to vehicle handover to the customer.
Affected vehicles already in the hands of customers should be updated at the next available opportunity.
