Condenser, Removing And Installing: Removing
-- Remove the front bumper cover. Refer to FRONT BUMPER COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Disconnect the refrigerant lines from the condenser. Refer to REFRIGERANT LINES, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING FROM CONDENSER .
-- Remove The Air Ducts For The Radiator. Refer to OVERVIEW - LOCK CARRIER / RADIATOR AIR DUCT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Additional Procedures depending on Engine and Vehicle Version:
-- Remove The Air Filter Housing (for example, on vehicles with 1.8L; 2.0L TFSI engine, 1.6L TDI engine or 2.0L TDI engine). Refer to AIR FILTER HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING [CRUA, DEJA] (vehicles with a diesel engine) or AIR FILTER HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING [CNSB, CNTC] (vehicles with a gasoline engine).
-- Remove The Fan Shroud (for example, on vehicles with 1.8L; 2.0L TFSI engine, 1.6L TDI engine or 2.0L TDI engine, 1.5L TFSI Engine). Refer to FAN SHROUD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING [CRUA, DEJA] / FAN SHROUD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING [CNSB, CNTC] (Overview - Fan Shroud and Radiator Fan).
-- Vehicles with 1.4L/2.5L TFSI engine, 1.6L TDI engine and 2.0L TDI engine: remove the radiator. Refer to RADIATOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING [CNSB, CNTC] / RADIATOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING [CRUA, DEJA] .
-- Vehicles with 1.2L TFSI engine and large charge air cooling circuit cooler: remove the radiator. Refer to RADIATOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING [CNSB, CNTC] / OVERVIEW - RADIATOR/RADIATOR FAN [CNSB, CNTC] / RADIATOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING [CRUA, DEJA] / OVERVIEW - FAN SHROUD AND COOLANT FAN [CRUA, DEJA] (Overview - Fan Shroud and Radiator Fan).
-- Vehicles with 1.2L TFSI engine and small charge air cooling circuit cooler: detach the radiator and tilt it as far as possible toward the engine. Refer to RADIATOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING [CNSB, CNTC] / OVERVIEW - RADIATOR/RADIATOR FAN [CNSB, CNTC] / RADIATOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING [CRUA, DEJA] / OVERVIEW - FAN SHROUD AND COOLANT FAN [CRUA, DEJA] (Overview - Fan Shroud and Radiator Fan).
There are different charge air cooling circuit coolers (large and small versions) for vehicles with a 1.2L TFSI engine. Refer to RADIATOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING [CNSB, CNTC] / OVERVIEW - RADIATOR/RADIATOR FAN [CNSB, CNTC] / RADIATOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING [CRUA, DEJA] / OVERVIEW - FAN SHROUD AND COOLANT FAN [CRUA, DEJA] (Overview - Fan Shroud and Radiator Fan).
-- Vehicles with 1.8L; 2.0L TFSI engine: Remove the charge air cooling circuit cooler. Refer to OVERVIEW - CHARGE AIR HOSE CONNECTIONS [CNSB, CNTC] / OVERVIEW - CHARGE AIR HOSE CONNECTIONS [CRUA, DEJA] (Overview - Fan Shroud and Radiator Fan).
Depending on the version of the charge air cooling circuit cooler, the radiator must also be removed to remove this cooler. Refer to RADIATOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING [CNSB, CNTC] / OVERVIEW - RADIATOR/RADIATOR FAN [CNSB, CNTC] / RADIATOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING [CRUA, DEJA] / OVERVIEW - FAN SHROUD AND COOLANT FAN [CRUA, DEJA] (Overview - Fan Shroud and Radiator Fan).
-- Vehicles with 1.8L; 2.0L TFSI engine on which the cooler is not removed: Detach the cooler and tilt it as far as possible toward the engine. Refer to RADIATOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING [CNSB, CNTC] / OVERVIEW - RADIATOR/RADIATOR FAN [CNSB, CNTC] / RADIATOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING [CRUA, DEJA] / OVERVIEW - FAN SHROUD AND COOLANT FAN [CRUA, DEJA] (Overview - Fan Shroud and Radiator Fan).
Continuation For All Vehicles:
-- Release the sealing lip -1- at the bottom from the charge air cooling circuit cooler -2- in direction of -arrow A- and disengage it at the top in direction of -arrow B-.
-- Have a second technician release the clips -1- in the direction of -arrow A- and remove the condenser -3- upward out of the mounts on the charge air cooling circuit cooler -2- in direction of -B arrows-.
