Electrically Driven A/C Compressor On Bracket, Removing And Installing: Installing

Installation is done is reverse order, observe the following:

  • Check the A/C compressor contact surfaces -B- on the engine bracket -A- and on the engine bracket -A- before attaching the A/C compressor and if necessary clean. Refer to CONTACT SURFACE CLEANING SET : VAS6410 .

NOTE:

The attachment point on the A/C compressor and the engine bracket as well as the ground cable on the bolt -C- must be checked before installing. The contact surfaces must be clean and free of rust and grease. Otherwise, service the contact surfaces with the :VAS6410  . Refer to CONTACT SURFACE CLEANING SET : VAS6410 .

After installing the A/C compressor and the subsequent filling of the refrigerant circuit, start up the removed electrically-driven A/C compressor for the first time via the "compressor cut-in" function for the basic setting. The A/C compressor may otherwise become damaged if refrigerant oil was improperly stored in the A/C compressor compression chamber before installation. Use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in the "Guided Fault Finding"  Function (A/C System).

Only activate the electrically driven A/C compressor when the refrigerant circuits are filled. The A/C compressor may become damaged if the A/C compressor is run while the refrigerant circuit is empty. Use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in the "Guided Fault Finding"  Function for the A/C System.

After fastening the A/C compressor, check installation position of refrigerant lines, lines must be engaged in bracket (if installed, depending on engine).

Check refrigerant lines and their bracket to ensure there is enough distance to the other components. Ensure there is also enough distance between belts, bracket and pulley.

-- Connect the wire to the A/C compressor (-A to C-) and to the designated engine points.

-- Install the remaining removed components.

-- Energize the voltage supply to the high voltage system. Refer to the appropriate service information .

Restart The High Voltage System

-- Turn on the ignition.

-- Check and, if necessary, erase the displayed faults in the DTC memory for the Climatronic Control Module -J255- A/C display control head and the A/C Compressor Control Module -J842-. Use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in the "Guided Fault Finding"  function.
