Sealing Flange, Removing And Installing, Belt Pulley Side: Installing
Install in reverse order of removal and note the following:
- Wear protective eyewear.
-- Remove residual sealant on the oil pan -1- for example with a rotating plastic brush.
-- Clean the sealing surfaces of oil and grease with a commercially available chemical sealant remover.
-- Cut the tube nozzle at the front marking (nozzle diameter: about 2 mm).
- Note the expiration date for the sealant.
- A new sealing flange may be delivered with or without a sealing lip for the sealing surface for the oil pan. If the sealing lip is missing, a sealant bead must be applied.
-- Apply the sealant bead -arrow- to the clean sealing flange sealing surface as shown.
- Sealant bead thickness: 2 to 3 mm.
- Do not apply sealant bead thicker than indicated.
-- Install the sealing flange within five minutes of applying the sealant.
-- Place the :T10053/1 on the crankshaft journal.
-- Slide the sealing flange over the :T10053/1 .
- The alignment bushings engages in the opening in the cylinder block.
-- Remove the : T10053/1 .
-- Tighten the sealing flange bolts. Refer to RIBBED BELT PULLEY SIDE SEALING FLANGE - TIGHTENING SPECIFICATIONS AND SEQUENCE .
Always follow the sequence when tightening.
Vehicles with One-Piece Oil Pan:
-- Install the oil pan. Refer to OIL PAN, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Vehicles with Two-Piece Oil Pan:
-- Install the oil pan lower section. Refer to OIL PAN LOWER SECTION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Install the oil pan upper section. Refer to OIL PAN UPPER SECTION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Continuation for All Vehicles:
-- Install the toothed belt (adjust valve timing). Refer to TOOTHED BELT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
