Diagnostic algorithm

  3. Visually inspect right seat, connectors, and wiring runs (under seat, through trim, into the sill) for damage, pinch points, or corrosion.
  4. With connector exposed and ignition on (follow safety procedures), backprobe the sensor connector and confirm reference voltage is present at the supply pin.
  5. Measure sensor output voltage to chassis ground. A voltage near 0V indicates a short to ground; compare to expected range in service data.
