Visually inspect the door latch area, switch, connector, and flex harness at the door hinge for damage, corrosion, or pin damage.
Back-probe the switch connector: verify reference voltage and signal behavior while operating the switch. Confirm proper ground. Compare to signal parameters above.
With ignition OFF, disconnect connectors and check continuity/resistance between the switch terminal and the BCM input terminal. Also check for unintended continuity to ground or battery (shorts).
