  3. With ignition off, disconnect battery per manufacturer procedures if you will remove the seat or access SRS/occupant sensor components (safety precaution).
  4. Locate the right rear seat heater connector. With heater off, measure resistance across heater terminals. An open circuit or much higher than specification indicates a failed element.
  5. With ignition on and heater switch commanded ON, measure supply voltage at the heater connector power terminal and verify ground continuity at the return terminal. If no supply, trace back to fuse, relay or ignition feed.
  6. If supply present but element open, replace seat cushion/heater pad following service manual procedure. If supply absent, repair wiring or replace faulty fuse/relay/switch/module.
  7. If heater element and wiring good but no command output from seat module, diagnose seat module outputs and CAN communications; replace or reprogram module only after confirming wiring and inputs are correct.
  8. After repairs, clear DTCs and perform functional test and road/test cycle to confirm heater operation and that DTC does not return.
