Causes

What to check

  • Visual inspection of brake pressure sensor connector and wiring for damage, corrosion or loose pins
  • Check for related network/communication codes (U‑codes) to rule out module comms issues
  • Confirm whether a recent service or sensor replacement was performed
  • Verify available calibration data/flags in ABS module using manufacturer scan tool

Signal parameters

  • Sensor signal type: typically analog voltage (0–5 V) or frequency depending on design
  • Expected idle/zero pressure output: low voltage near 0.5–1.0 V for many sensors (varies by make)
  • Signal increases proportionally with brake hydraulic pressure; should be smooth without dropouts
  • CAN/diagnostic flags: calibration flag or sensor learned flag present in ABS module
  • During active calibration the scan tool shows status messages and target values

Diagnostic algorithm

  1. Retrieve and document C0560 and any related codes. Note freeze frame and vehicle state when code set.
  2. Verify battery condition and charge; ensure ignition is ON and voltage stable during tests.
  3. Perform a careful visual inspection: connectors, wiring harness, sensor mounting and hydraulic fitting for leaks or damage.
  4. Using a capable scan tool, check the ABS module for calibration/learn status for Brake Pressure Sensor A. Some modules list a learn/completed flag.
  5. Measure sensor output with a meter or scope while applying pedal pressure or using a pressure gauge. Confirm the signal is present, changes smoothly and is within manufacturer-expected range.
  6. If sensor output is valid but module shows missing calibration, attempt the manufacturer-specified sensor calibration/learn procedure with an OEM-level scan tool.
  7. If calibration cannot be completed, check for wiring continuity and resistance between sensor and module, and repair any open/shorts.
  8. If wiring and connectors are good but calibration still fails, replace the brake pressure sensor with a correct OEM part then perform calibration.
  9. If a module replacement or software update was recently performed, verify the module was correctly programmed and that the correct software/calibration files are installed.
  10. Clear codes, perform a controlled road test and re-scan. If code returns, escalate to module-level diagnostics or manufacturer service information for software/firmware issues.
