Causes

  • Damaged, corroded or loose connector at the left front load valve
  • Open or shorted wiring between the valve and the control module
  • Blown fuse or faulty relay supplying the valve circuit
  • Stuck, clogged or mechanically failed load valve (internal seizure or contamination)
  • Hydraulic/pneumatic leak or restricted line (if valve controls fluid/air flow)
  • Control module (ABS/air suspension/BCM) internal fault or software issue

Symptoms

  • ABS/ESC and/or suspension warning lamp illuminated
  • Suspension height not maintained or uneven ride height at front left
  • Reduced system functionality related to ABS/traction/suspension (limp-mode behaviour)
  • Audible clicking or no-click from the valve when commanded
  • Fault returns after clearing codes or appears intermittently

What to check

  • Scan vehicle for live data and stored freeze-frame information; note any additional related codes
  • Visually inspect left front valve, connector and wiring harness for damage, corrosion, pin push-out or water ingress
  • Check related fuses and relays for continuity and correct operation
  • With connector disconnected, measure resistance of the valve coil and compare to service specification
  • Back-probe the valve connector while commanding the valve with a diagnostic tool; verify supply voltage, ground and commanded signal (PWM/duty)
  • Inspect hydraulic or air lines for leaks, blockages or disconnected fittings (if applicable)

Signal parameters

  • Valve coil resistance: typically in the low ohms to tens of ohms range (example 8–30 Ω) — check vehicle service data for exact spec
  • Command signal: pulsed/PWM output from control module when valve is actuated; voltage may vary between ~0–12 V depending on duty cycle
  • Steady supply voltage at rest: approx. battery voltage (11–14 V) to the valve supply circuit
  • Expected behaviour when commanded: audible click or measurable change in current/voltage; no-click + proper command indicates valve fault or open circuit

Diagnostic algorithm

  1. Obtain freeze-frame and full scan of vehicle controllers; record related DTCs and live data. 2) Clear codes and attempt to reproduce to confirm persistence. 3) Visually inspect left front valve, connector and harness for damage, corrosion or water ingress. 4) Verify fuses/relays for the valve circuit. 5) With ignition off, disconnect valve and measure coil resistance; compare to service specification. 6) Reconnect and back-probe valve connector; command valve with scan tool while observing supply voltage and command waveform (use scope if available). 7) If command is present but valve does not respond (no click or no change in current), apply an appropriate fused bench 12 V test to the valve (follow safety procedures) to confirm mechanical/electrical operation. 8) If valve is confirmed bad, replace valve and re-test. If valve works but no command from module, inspect wiring continuity back to module and check module grounds and power supplies. 9) If wiring and valve are good but fault persists, consider control module fault or required software update; consult manufacturer service information. 10) After repair, clear codes and perform functional test/road test to confirm fault does not return.

Likely causes

  • Wiring/connector problem (most common)
  • Failed solenoid/valve (electrical coil open/short or hydraulically stuck)
  • Blown fuse or failed relay
  • Control module fault or intermittent controller output
  • Blocked fluid/air line or external leakage

Fault status

⚠️ Status
Control module reports abnormal response from left front load valve — possible open circuit, short, stuck valve or communication/control fault detected.
