Diagnostic algorithm

- Inspect harness/connector for cylinder 11 injector; repair any corrosion, damaged wires, or poor pins. Wiggle-test while watching injector command and response.
- Measure injector resistance and compare to spec. If abnormal, remove and visually inspect injector for contamination or mechanical seizure.
- Use a lab scope or injector test tool to view injector driver waveform and confirm injector is being commanded and energized correctly.
- Swap the suspect injector with another cylinder (if possible). If the fuel-trim fault moves to the new cylinder, replace the injector. If it stays on cylinder 11, suspect wiring, mechanical or intake/exhaust issues at that cylinder.
- Perform compression or leak-down test on cylinder 11; repair valves, piston rings, or head gasket as indicated.
- Perform intake manifold smoke test and exhaust system inspection for leaks that would affect oxygen sensor readings or local cylinder trim.
- Check MAF/MAP/O2 sensor operation; replace or recalibrate sensors if providing incorrect data and other causes ruled out.
- If wiring, injector and mechanical tests pass, consider ECU/PCM testing or reflashing as a last step.
- After repair, erase codes and perform a road test and confirm fuel trim and misfire counts have normalized.
