- With ignition ON, backprobe CANH and CANL at the MCM connector. Confirm proper idle voltages and message activity using a scan tool or oscilloscope. Compare with a known-good reference if available.
- If CAN bus levels are abnormal, isolate by disconnecting the mirror module and checking bus behavior (do other nodes communicate normally?). Repair short or open conditions and restore proper termination.
- If wiring and bus are good but module does not respond or transmits invalid data, try reprogramming/reflashing the mirror control module per manufacturer procedure. Ensure correct calibration and software version.
- If reprogramming fails or module still communicates incorrectly, replace the mirror control module. After replacement, perform module initialization, coding, and function tests.
