Causes

Diagnostic algorithm

  1. Connect a professional scan tool and record U3007 plus any related codes and freeze-frame data.
  2. Verify battery health and charge; ensure battery terminals are clean and tight. If battery is weak, recharge and retest.
  3. Inspect all fuses and fusible links for the affected power feed; replace any blown item and recheck for reoccurrence.
  4. With key OFF and battery disconnected, visually inspect the wiring harness and connector at Control Module B for damage, corrosion, or water intrusion.
  5. Reconnect battery. With a DVOM, measure voltage at the module power pin(s) with key OFF/ON/ENGINE RUN per the service manual. Confirm presence and stability of expected supply.
  6. Measure resistance/continuity from module ground pins to battery negative. Repair or clean grounds if resistance is high.
  7. If supply is missing, trace power feed back to the fuse/relay/ignition source checking continuity and voltage at intermediate points. Repair open or shorted wiring as found.
  8. If power is present but intermittent, perform wiggle test on harness and connector while watching live data or voltage. Repair or replace connector/harness sections showing intermittent contact.
  9. If wiring, fuses and grounds check good, compare module behavior by checking communication on CAN/LIN with a scope or bus monitor. If module shows no power but all supplies are correct, suspect internal module failure.
  10. Follow vehicle manufacturer procedure for module replacement and programming if replacement is necessary. After repair, clear codes and verify system operation and that U3007 does not return.
