  5. If voltage fluctuates with harness manipulation, repair or replace damaged wiring/connector. Repair corrosion and retest.
  6. Check ECM ground and supply voltages; verify fuses and any power/relay feeding the ECM.
  7. If wiring and sensors test OK and reference still out of range, consider ECM internal fault. Confirm with wiring resistance checks between ECM reference pin and sensor connectors; if uncertain, consult vehicle-specific wiring and manufacturer diagnostics before ECM replacement.
  8. After repairs, clear codes and perform test drive to ensure fault does not return and related sensor readings are within expected ranges.
