  4. Visually inspect roof path and remove any obstructions; manually move linkage (if safe) to check for binding
  5. Check fuses and relays for the top circuit; replace if faulty
  6. Test position/limit switches for proper switching and continuity; clean or replace as needed
  7. Check motor/pump supply and ground for proper voltage while operating; if voltage present but no movement, suspect motor/pump or mechanical jam
  8. Measure motor current during operation to detect overload/stall
  9. Inspect wiring harness and connectors for corrosion, damage, or poor mating; repair as necessary
  10. If hydraulic, inspect lines, actuator and fluid level; repair leaks and top up fluid to spec
  11. Clear codes after repairs and run multiple cycles to confirm proper operation; if B1316 returns, trace/control unit and replace components per service manual guidance
