Diagnostic algorithm

Confirm the code is current and note lamp behavior. Clear code and see if it returns to confirm repeatability.

With ignition off, disconnect the LF lamp connector. Check for battery voltage at the lamp socket (vehicle side). Battery voltage at the socket with switch off indicates a short/feed into lamp wiring.

Reconnect lamp and verify whether the lamp itself creates the short by substituting a known-good bulb/assembly or isolating LED drivers per manufacturer procedure.
Repair identified wiring damage, replace corroded connectors, remove incorrect aftermarket connections, or replace the lamp assembly as required.
If wiring and lamp assembly are confirmed good and short persists at the module output, consult wiring diagrams and consider replacing or reprogramming the BCM/lighting module per service manual.
