  2. Visually inspect the pedal area, sensor mounting and wiring harness for damage, chafing, corrosion or water ingress.
  3. Verify related fuses and relays (ABS, BCM, interior electronics). Replace any blown fuses and retest.
  4. With the ignition ON (engine off), measure battery voltage at the sensor power pin. Compare to battery terminal voltage. If missing or low, trace supply back to the fuse and relay.
  5. Check continuity between the sensor power pin and the appropriate fuse/relay output. Repair any open/shorted wiring.
  6. Check sensor ground continuity to a known good chassis ground and to the module ground; repair poor grounds.
  7. If supply and ground are good but the code persists, measure sensor signal while cycling the pedal to confirm proper operation. If signal is absent or erratic despite correct supply, suspect the sensor.
  8. If wiring and sensor test OK, check the controlling module power/ground and inputs. Replace module only after wiring and sensor are verified good and with confirmation from manufacturer procedures.
  9. After repairs, clear codes and perform a road/functional test while monitoring live data to ensure the DTC does not return.
