Causes

  • Open or short in front right valve solenoid wiring
  • Corroded/loose connector at the valve
  • Faulty front right valve solenoid (internal coil failure)
  • Blown fuse or faulty relay powering ABS/ESC hydraulic unit
  • Faulty ABS/ESC control module or internal driver circuit
  • Water intrusion or physical damage to harness

Symptoms

  • ABS, ESC or TC warning light illuminated
  • Traction control and/or ABS functions disabled or limited
  • Reduced braking/traction control performance during slip
  • Possible diagnostic trouble codes for other ABS valve circuits
  • Noisy or pulsing brake behavior in some faults

What to check

  • Scan ABS/ESC module for stored codes and freeze-frame data
  • Visually inspect wiring and connector at front right valve for corrosion, damage, or water
  • Check relevant fuses and relays for ABS/ESC power
  • Verify battery voltage and good chassis/engine ground
  • Measure continuity and resistance of valve solenoid circuit
  • Use a scan tool to command the valve (actuator test) and observe response

Signal parameters

  • Valve coil resistance (typical): approximately 5–30 ohms — consult vehicle service manual for exact spec
  • Supply voltage: battery voltage (~11–14 V) should be present at power feed with ignition ON
  • Ground: low-ohm continuity to chassis ground when module provides ground
  • Activation signal: module may use a switched ground or PWM driver — duty cycle varies with commanded pressure
  • Open-circuit: infinite resistance; short-to-ground or short-to-power: near 0 ohms or battery voltage present at unexpected terminal

Diagnostic algorithm

  1. Read and record all ABS/ESC codes and freeze-frame data with a capable scan tool. Note whether C2373 is current or historical.
  2. Perform a visual inspection of the front right valve harness and connector. Repair obvious damage, corrosion, or poor crimps.
  3. Check fuses/relays for ABS/ESC power. Replace if blown and retest.
  4. With ignition OFF, disconnect the valve connector. Measure resistance across the valve terminals; compare to service specification. An open or short indicates a faulty valve.
  5. With connector disconnected, check continuity from the module harness pins to the valve connector and for short to ground/power. Repair any wiring faults.
  6. With ignition ON, backprobe the harness at the valve connector and verify power and ground signals while commanding the valve from the scan tool (actuator test). Observe voltage/PWM behavior.
  7. If wiring and power/ground are good but valve does not respond or resistance is out of spec, replace the front right valve assembly or solenoid.
  8. If valve replacement does not clear the fault, suspect ABS/ESC module driver failure. Verify by swapping valves (if serviceable and safe) or consult manufacturer diagnostics before module replacement.
  9. Clear codes, perform system bleed/initialization if required, and road test to confirm repair. Re-scan to ensure no new codes.

Likely causes

  • Damaged connector or wiring harness to front right valve (most common)
  • Failed valve solenoid coil
  • Poor ground or intermittent connection
  • Blown fuse or power supply issue
  • Module driver fault (least common)

Fault status

⚠️ Status
Traction Control (front right valve) electrical fault detected. ABS/ESC warning displayed; traction control may be disabled. Have vehicle inspected and repaired.
