  5. Measure sensor resistance across its terminals (compare to manufacturer specification or check for a reasonable change with temperature). If sensor reads near 0 ohms or open/very high, replace sensor.
  6. Inspect wiring harness routing for chafing, heat damage, or corrosion; repair or replace damaged sections. Secure connectors and apply dielectric grease where appropriate.
  7. If wiring and sensor check OK, test continuity from sensor connector to control module connector. Repair any opens or high-resistance circuits.
  8. If wiring and sensor are good but fault persists, consider control module input circuit fault; verify module grounds and power and consult manufacturer procedures before replacing the module.
  9. After repairs, clear codes, perform a functional test and road test to confirm the code does not return and that system operates normally.
