Signal parameters

  4. With the HV system made safe per manufacturer, perform continuity/resistance check of the sense J conductor from the control module connector to the battery pack sensor. Repair any opens or shorts.
  5. Backprobe the sense J at the control module (with low-voltage circuits active and HV isolated as required) and measure the voltage while comparing to expected values or to other sense circuits.
  6. Wiggle test the harness and connectors while monitoring the sense voltage to detect intermittent faults.
  7. If wiring and connectors are good, test or replace the battery pack voltage sensor/module associated with sense J per manufacturer procedure.
  8. If sensor and wiring are good, consider control module input testing or reflashing software per service information; replace module only after eliminating wiring/sensor faults.
  9. Clear codes and perform drive/operation verification under the same conditions that originally set the code. Re-scan and confirm repair.
  10. Document repairs and advise on corrosion protection and harness routing to prevent recurrence.
