Causes

What to check

  • Verify DC/DC input (HV interlock/contactors) and output (12 V system) voltages
  • Check fuses and relays for DC/DC B circuit
  • Perform wiggle test on connectors and harness while monitoring voltage

Diagnostic algorithm

  1. Capture and record all stored and pending DTCs with a scan tool. Note freeze frame and live data.
  2. Inspect DC/DC Converter B area for obvious damage, water intrusion, corrosion or loose mounts.
  3. With the vehicle off, check fuses and relays for DC/DC B circuits. Replace any blown fuses and retest.
  4. Verify HV interlock/contactors and input feed to the DC/DC unit are present and stable per service data.
  5. With appropriate safety precautions for HV systems, measure DC/DC input and output voltages at the converter connector while idle and under accessory load. Compare to expected ranges.
  6. Inspect and test ground and 12 V negative connections for low resistance. Repair/correct any high resistance or corrosion.
