  4. With harness connected, monitor door switch input on scan tool (live data) while opening/closing the door. Look for expected state changes and note any invalid values or no-change conditions.
  5. Perform a wiggle test: move harness and connectors while monitoring live data to find intermittent faults.
  6. If live data abnormal or absent, backprobe the door switch connector and measure voltage/continuity: check supply, signal, and ground pins per wiring diagram. Verify switch open/closed voltage behavior.
  7. If wiring and switch read correct at the door but module still reports invalid data, check continuity from door connector to BCM/door module connector. Repair any high resistance or opens.
  8. Check CAN bus health: measure CANH/CANL voltages and look for excessive noise, shorts, or improper termination. Use oscilloscope if available.
  9. Inspect for other modules causing bus errors by disconnecting suspect modules one at a time and observing if the code clears (follow OEM safe procedures).
  10. If wiring, connectors, and switch are good, consider reflashing/reprogramming the affected module per OEM procedures before replacing hardware.
  11. After repairs, clear codes and test drive/operate doors to confirm code does not return. Re-scan to verify no related faults remain.
  12. If intermittent and unresolved, consult manufacturer TSBs/wiring diagrams and consider professional diagnostics or module replacement only after confirming root cause.
