- Check for shorts: measure resistance from CANH/CANL to battery positive and ground with ignition OFF. Identify and repair any short circuits.
- If physical checks normal, monitor the CAN bus with an oscilloscope or a CAN monitor tool to view frames, noise, or bus-off conditions. Look for message flooding, missing ABS addresses, or corrupted signals.
- Isolate the fault by disconnecting neighboring modules or aftermarket devices one at a time and observing if ABS communication returns.
- If wiring and bus integrity are confirmed and the module still doesn’t communicate, consider ABS module reprogramming or replacement per manufacturer procedures. After repairs, clear codes and perform a road test to confirm communication stability.
