Causes

  • Blown bulb or failed LED unit
  • Blown fuse or tripped circuit protection
  • Open, corroded or loose connector at the right static lamp
  • Broken or chafed wire in the harness (open or short to ground/12V)
  • Poor ground connection at lamp or body earth
  • Corrosion or water ingress at lamp housing or connector

Symptoms

  • Right static/parking/position lamp does not illuminate
  • Intermittent illumination or flicker of the right static lamp
  • Instrument cluster or message centre lamp fault/warning displayed
  • Related lighting functions operate normally on the left side
  • Possible multiple lighting DTCs if a module output is shorted

What to check

  • Read stored and pending DTCs and any related body network codes using a capable scan tool
  • Visually inspect the right static lamp assembly, socket and connector for corrosion, water, damage or loose pins
  • Inspect wiring harness along route for damage, repairs or pinched sections
  • Check relevant fuses and fuseholder contacts
  • Remove bulb or lamp module and inspect/measure filament or LED unit resistance
  • With lamp connector disconnected, check for corrosion and bent pins

Signal parameters

  • Expected supply voltage at lamp connector: battery voltage (~11.5–14.5 V) when lights are on (no excessive voltage drop)
  • Typical incandescent parking lamp resistance: ~5–10 Ω (varies by lamp wattage) — LED assemblies will show much higher/complex resistance; check manufacturer specs
  • Current draw for incandescent parking lamp: roughly 0.3–1.0 A (depends on lamp wattage); LED much lower and may require CAN/driver checks
  • Acceptable voltage drop between module feed and lamp connector:
  • Ground continuity: near 0 Ω between lamp ground pin and vehicle chassis ground
  • If lamp driver is PWM, frequency may be present — use an oscilloscope or diagnostic tool to view duty cycle and frequency

Diagnostic algorithm

  1. Connect a capable scan tool. Read and record DTC B13CC and any related codes. Note freeze-frame/live-data.
  2. Perform a visual inspection of the right static lamp assembly, socket and adjacent wiring. Check for moisture, corrosion or physical damage.
  3. Check fuses/circuit breakers for the lighting circuit. Replace/test fuse and fuseholder if suspect.
  4. Remove the lamp/bulb and inspect the lamp element. Test lamp continuity/resistance. Replace lamp if open or visibly failed.
  5. With connector disconnected, measure supply voltage at the lamp feed pin with lights ON. If battery voltage is present, measure ground continuity at the ground pin.
  6. If no supply voltage, trace back to the fuse and BCM output. Check for voltage at BCM connector or intermediate splice. Repair/open circuit as found.
  7. If supply voltage present but lamp does not illuminate, apply a fused 12V bench supply to the lamp connector to verify lamp/LED operation and isolate wiring.
  8. If supply is low or intermittent, perform wiggle test and probe wiring for intermittent shorts/opens. Repair harness damage and secure routing.
  9. If a short to ground or to 12V is suspected, isolate circuit sections and measure resistance to identify short location. Repair or replace wiring as required.
  10. If wiring and lamp check good, test/replace the body control module/lighting driver or its connector only after confirming a good wiring harness and verifying the module output is faulty.
  11. Clear codes and re-test operation. Confirm repair by road test and checking for reappearance of the code.

Likely causes

  • Blown lamp filament or failed LED assembly
  • Corroded/loose connector pins at the lamp socket
  • Broken conductor in the right front/rear harness (pinched or rubbed through)
  • Failed ground/earth strap at lamp mounting point
  • Open fuse or poor fuse contact
  • Faulty lamp output transistor inside BCM or damaged connector at module

Fault status

⚠️ Status
Right static lighting lamp — electrical supply fault detected (circuit supply voltage out of range, open or short). Lamp may be inoperative or intermittent.
🟡 Repair difficulty: Medium
⏱️ Diagnostic time: 0.5-2.0 hours
