  2. Follow safety procedure: disable SRS (disconnect battery negative) and wait the manufacturer-specified time before touching connectors.
  3. Visually inspect the front-right airbag connector, wiring harness, seat area, and routing for damage or corrosion; repair as needed.
  4. With SRS disabled and connector disconnected at the airbag, measure squib resistance at the harness side using a low-resistance ohmmeter; compare to specification.
  5. If resistance is abnormally low (short) trace wiring back toward SRS control unit using step-by-step disconnects to isolate section causing short; check for chafed wires contacting body or other circuits.
  6. If harness measures normal but squib side shows short, suspected squib/airbag assembly fault — replace airbag assembly and retest.
  7. Repair or replace damaged wiring, connectors, or modules as required. Ensure pin terminals are correctly seated and protected from moisture.
  8. After repairs, clear codes with scan tool, reconnect battery, and cycle ignition to confirm code does not return and SRS lamp extinguishes.
  9. If code persists, consult manufacturer's service manual for module-level tests or replace SRS control unit only after isolating harness and squib condition.
