- Perform a continuity test from the switch signal pin to the BCM connector pin to detect opens/shorts; wiggle the harness for intermittent faults.
- If the switch does not show expected continuity or signal change, bench-test or substitute a known-good switch and re-check operation.
- If the switch and wiring test good but the BCM does not see the input, inspect BCM connectors/power/grounds and retest continuity to BCM pins. Repair any connector or wiring faults.
