Diagnostic algorithm

- Inspect harness and connectors for the suspected module and trace the wake-up circuit for visible damage or aftermarket taps.
- With ignition off, back-probe the wake wire at the module connector and measure voltage. If voltage is high when it should be low, suspect a short to battery or stuck driver.
- Isolate the circuit: disconnect the module connector and measure the wake wire voltage at the harness side. If voltage drops to low, the module is likely the source; if still high, the short is upstream.
- Wiggle testing: with harness disconnected and ignition in appropriate state, gently move harness to find intermittent shorts or opens. Do not simulate loads that could damage circuits.
